Growing Upwords
A Collection of Things My Son Said
When I first started turning my son’s quotes into art I was a young mom at an awkward stage of growing up. Life felt difficult, uncomfortable, even scary. But when I watched my son, who was only three then, I saw how growing up was not something he was afraid of. He was learning about living at the same time he was learning language. Both his world and his words were full of excitement, curiosity, and joy. Many people have watched my son literally grow up through this series, which I worked on over the course of eight years. It’s a mom memorybook of sorts and it is a tribute to the way my son’s words have raised me too. I think they are words we can all grow up to. I hope they lift you.
